During the past 250 years it was home for the most distinguished residents in town, a magnet for immigrants, a heaven for bohemians and hippies, and a playground for some wild counterculture.

On the tour we will enter some of the magnificent buildings, get to know architecture from the time when New York officially becomes a cosmopolitan and exciting city, discover equal shops and restaurants, walk in the parks and also see what their importance is to freedom of expression in the United States, and more.

During two and a half hours of wandering we will discover hidden (but really hidden) gardens, cascading waterfalls (of a few meters!), Strange sculptures, historic corners (well, how not) and some of the most special buildings the city has to offer. This is a tour that exemplifies what I always say about New York - if you allow it, it gives so much more than we thought!

On the tour, we will explore three important downtown neighborhoods from the Downtown area of Manhattan – Chinatown, the Lower East Side and Nolita.
 

On the tour we will understand how natural the park itself is, how it happened to be spread over such a large area in the heart of one of the most expensive and crowded cities in the world, what actually makes it such a famous place, and why it is truly a paradise in the heart of the most crowded and urban city.

Without a doubt one of the most interesting and underappreciated museums in the city, so I'm glad to take you to it! It's also really easy to get to from Manhattan! Come and discover treasures of American art, amazing and unique spaces, works that changed the history of art and the world in general.

We will stroll down beautiful streets and blend with the changing character of each area: from the dramatic and dark past of the Chinese Mafia to the old Jewish buildings in which time stopped still. From secret magical gardens to Mom-and-Pop restaurants. We will meet the next generation of an Italian family butcher shop and spot the bold interventions of contemporary street artists in the local landscape. Most of all, we will discover the most famous city in the world from a new and uniquely moving perspective.
