Nova York em um dia

 

Hoje faremos uma viagem por Manhattan.

A excursão começará em Midtown Manhattan, próximo ao Grand Central Terminal na 42nd Street.

De lá, cruzaremos a cidade de leste a oeste na 42nd Street, passando pelo Grand Central Terminal, The New York Public Library, Times Square - The Km Zero de NYC, The Port Authority Bus Terminal, e de lá continuaremos a parte alta da cidade pela 8th Avenida.

Após a chegada ao Upper West Side; 72nd Street e 8th Avenue / Central Park West, sairemos do Ônibus / Mini Van, para uma caminhada pela casa Dakota, onde o cantor John Lennon foi assassinado em sua entrada no dia 8 de dezembro de 1980. Continuaremos com um curta caminhe por Strawberry Fields no Central Park e veremos o famoso mosaico "Imagine" da canção utópica dos Beatles, em memória do músico morto em Strawberry Fields.

Atravessaremos o Central Park na rua 86 do lado oeste para o lado leste de Manhattan. Depois de cruzar a cidade chegaremos à avenida mais famosa da cidade de Nova York e do mundo; "Quinta Avenida". A partir daí, continuaremos no centro da cidade, continuaremos ao longo da elegante "Fifth Avenue" passando pelo "The Metropolitan Museum", "Rockefeller Center", "Times Square".

Na Times Square, continuaremos no centro pela Broadway, a rua mais longa da Ilha de Manhattan. Em nossa jornada passaremos pelo Empire State Building - ESB, que foi o prédio mais alto do mundo por mais de 40 anos. De lá seguiremos para o "Flat Iron District" e Madison Square Park, onde faremos uma pequena parada e desceremos do Ônibus / Mini Van para fotografar cenários.

A segunda parte do passeio será dedicada ao centro de Manhattan.

Veremos o incrível monumento inaugurado em 2012, a Igreja dos Bombeiros e encerraremos o tour em Wall Street. Em seguida, embarcaremos em uma caminhada de uma hora pela Baía de Nova York, passando pela Ilha da Liberdade e fotografando a senhora mais famosa do mundo: a Estátua da Liberdade - um presente da França para o povo americano e, o mais importante, seremos Testemunhas da encantadora vista do horizonte de Manhattan.

Lincoln Center

Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts (also simply known as Lincoln Center) is a 16.3-acre (6.6-hectare) complex of buildings in the Lincoln Square neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City. It has thirty indoor and outdoor facilities and is host to 5 million visitors annually. It houses nationally and internationally renowned performing arts organizations including the New York Philharmonic, the Metropolitan Opera, and the New York City Ballet. Julliard School of Music also became part of the Lincoln Center complex.

Strawberry Fields
Strawberry Fields

Strawberry Fields is a memorial to the British rock musician and peace activist John Lennon (1940–1980). The memorial consists of a five-acre landscape near the West 72nd Street entrance and includes the Imagine mosaic, where many come to pay tribute to Lennon. The memorial’s name is a reference to the 1967 song Lennon wrote and performed with the Beatles, “Strawberry Fields Forever.”

The Dakota was constructed between 1880 and 1884, and was designed by Henry Janeway Hardenbergh.

The 14 original Art Deco buildings, commissioned by the Rockefeller family, span the area between Fifth Avenue and Sixth Avenue, split by a large sunken square and a private street called Rockefeller Plaza. Later additions include 75 Rockefeller Plaza across 51st Street at the north end of Rockefeller Plaza, and four International buildings located on the west side of Sixth Avenue.
